Our pioneering Drumming Circle is picking up pace and we're calling all drummers to join in!

In April 2016 I started Djembe Drumming Workshops in Okehampton for the Home Ed community.
The progress that our drummers have made in such a short time is absolutely incredible.
In the children's drumming circle we learn about, turn taking, sharing, identifying different tones and sounds, listening skills. Hand, eye Co- ordination. Motor skills, body movement, team work, rhythm, the ability to focus and a great sense of accomplishment.
The aims are:

With each beat, the drummer will first get in tune with themselves, and then with each other to create a rhythm with a collective voice.

- Create a drumming circle of all ages and abilities playing different size Djembe Drums and percussion instruments
- Learn about the origins of the Djembe and its cultural significance
- Build a beat using Base and Tone stikes and keeping pace
- Work as a team
- Make new friends and have fun!
